BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - DECEMBER 1-3

Saanichton, B.C. - The weekend is nearly here, which means BCEHL hockey is around the corner. We've got a packed schedule including a matchup in the U18 league between two of the league's top teams. Let's take a look at what this weekend has in store.
Female U18 AAA
The Female U18 league is not in action this weekend as they have a league-wide bye. During the bye week, three of the league’s teams will be attending different tournaments in Ontario.
Fraser Valley Rush & Greater Vancouver Comets - USA/Canada Cup - Kitchener, ON
Northern Capitals - 2 Nations Cup - Brampton, ON
U18 AAA
U18 AAA Featured Series: The second-place Cariboo Cougars (12-3-1-0) will host the third-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (12-2-0-0) with only one point separating the two teams in the standings. The Thunderbirds have recorded victories in five straight league games with forwards Justin Brar (3g-8a) and Manwinder Sandhu (1g-11a) both packing the scoresheet in those contests. The Cougars, who enter the game with five wins in their last six league outings, have offensive weapons of their own, with Isaiah Bagri (16g-16a), Mason Loewen (11g-13a) and Rylan Bissett (7g-15g) all finding themselves in the top five in league scoring.

U17 AAA Featured Series: The third-place Okanagan Rockets take on the eighth-place Thompson Blazers in a home-and-home series with the two sides yet to face off this year. The Rockets find themselves just one point back of top spot in the standings with help from their goaltending tandem of Finn McKiernan and Tyson Adams, who have backstopped Okanagan to a league-best goals against per game (2.50). The Blazers boast the offensive duo of Aaron Zulinick (3g-16a) and Reece Phillips (9g-8a), who are both in the top 10 of league scoring.

U15 AAA Featured Series: The Vancouver North East Chiefs will make the trip to Nanaimo to take on the Vancouver Island Royals this weekend. The teams last met on September 23rd at the U15 showcase in Langley, where the Chiefs were victorious 5-3 thanks to a four goal performance from Christiano D'Addabbo. D'Addabbo sits first in league scoring with 31 points (17g-14a) in just 10 games. Royals' forward Kane Nicholas has also been productive offensively as of late, recording nine points (7g-2a) in his last five games.
