BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - DECEMBER 11-12

Saanichton, B.C. –  In the BCEHL this weekend there are two must-see matchups in the U18 AAA league as all four of the top teams in the league will face off against each other. The Female U18 AAA league returns to action as the Fraser Valley Rush will look to re-take first place in the league with a win over the Vancouver Island Seals. Elsewhere, the U17 AAA Vancouver NE Chiefs will be looking to claim top spot as they face the Vancouver NW Hawks. Let’s have a look at the rest of the action for this weekend!
 
Female U18 AAA
 
After four of the league’s teams returned from tournaments across the country, the Vancouver Island Seals and the Fraser Valley Rush will return to league action with two games slated in Langley. Five of the league’s top 10-point scorers, Fraser Valley’s Aynsley D’Ottavio (3g-22a), Vienna Rubin (12g-12a), Solana Cooper (6g-11a), Leah Barnard (1g-15a), and Vancouver Island’s Devan Andrusak (6g-8a), will all be in action. Elsewhere, the Northern Capitals will head to the 2021 Mandi Schwartz Memorial Tournament in Regina, Saskatchewan this weekend.

U18 AAA
 
In the U18 AAA league there are two matchups that you must keep an eye on. The first-placed Vancouver NE Chiefs (30 points) will be facing off against the second-placed Vancouver NW Hawks (29 points). This matchup will see two of the top goaltenders in the league, Oliver Auyeung-Ashton of the Chiefs and Aidan Fischer of the Hawks, both looking to add to their league-leading 10 wins. Elsewhere, the third-placed Greater Vancouver Canadians (27 points) will battle the fourth-placed Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (22 points) with four of the league’s top-five-point scorers in action. The South Island Royals and North Island Silvertips will also face-off, with South Island's Ollie Josephson (5th-overall) and North Island's Matthew Hutchison (50th-overall) both coming off being selected in the top-50 of Thursday's WHL Prospects Draft.

U17 AAA
 
There are a few must-see games in the U17 AAA league this weekend. The Greater Vancouver Canadians (26 points) and the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (24 points) will go head-to-head this weekend with both teams sitting within striking distance of the Valley West Giants (28 points), who currently sit in first place in the league standings. In another matchup, Levi Green (12g-20a), who currently leads the league in points, and his Vancouver NE Chiefs teammates will take on local-rivals the Vancouver NW Hawks. The Okanagan Rockets will return to league play after winning the 2021 Western Sport School Challenge last weekend.

U15 AAA
 
It is a light slate of games in the U15 AAA league as only two teams will take the ice. The Vancouver NW Hawks (23 points), who currently sit only two points behind the league-leading Valley West Giants (25 points), will battle the South Island Royals this weekend. Both of the teams come into the game riding five-game winning streaks. South Island’s Parker MacDougall enters the weekend on a hot streak of his own after scoring seven points (3g-4a) in his last two games.
