BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - FEBRUARY 9-11

Saanichton, B.C. - It's time for another big weekend around the BCEHL! It's showcase weekend once again as all nine teams in the U18 league gather in Chilliwack starting Friday. Let's take a look at what's going on around the BCEHL!

 

Female U18 AAA

Female U18 AAA Featured Series: The third-place Greater Vancouver Comets (14-10-2-2) and the league-leading Fraser Valley Rush (21-7-1-1) square off in a weekend series. It's been a competitive six-game season series so far between the two squads, as the Rush have taken three wins, the Comets with two, and one resulting in a tie. The matchup will see five of the league's top 10 scorers will be featured in this matchup, including Fraser Valley's Hannah Dods, Leah Hill and Cassandra Kehler, along with Greater Vancouver's Cameron Shiels and Rowan Hu.

U18 AAA

U18 AAA Featured Matchup: The final day of the U18 showcase opens with a matchup between the second-place Cariboo Cougars (24-6-2-0) and fourth-place Okanagan Rockets (18-10-1-1). Both teams enter the weekend on a high-note. Cariboo has picked up wins in four straight games, with defender Kenyon McIsaac leading the way with seven points during that span, while Okanagan's Mason Rudolph has put up seven points (2g-5a) during his team's two-game winning streak.

U17 AAA

U17 AAA Featured Series: In a showdown between the top two teams in the U17 league, the league-leading Greater Vancouver Canadians (20-6-2-2) and second-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (16-8-3-3) hit the ice in a home-and-home series. The league's powerhouses will renew acquaintances for the first time since the weekend of November 25-26, which saw game one go to Fraser Valley, and the second matchup result in a tie. Fraser Valley forwards Ryley Green (2g-1a) and Deegan Holding (1g-2a) have put up three points each against Greater Vancouver this season, while Canadians' forward Sorash Ramlal (2g-0a) found the back of the net in both games against the Thunderbirds.

U15 AAA Featured Series: In a duel between two of the U15 league's best, the league-leading Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (23-4-0-1) make the trip to Kelowna to take on the third-place Okanagan Rockets (15-6-2-3). Reigning U15 Player of the Month Daniel Ewert put up four points (2g-2a) for the Thunderbirds in four games at last weekend's showcase, while Okanagan's Kaishu Shin finished the showcase with six points (4g-2a) in four games.
