BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - JANUARY 10-14

Saanichton, B.C. - A busy week in the BCEHL is upon us! We've got marquee matchups across all four leagues that will have major implications at the top of the league standings. Let's see what this week has in store around the BCEHL!

 

Female U18 AAA

 

Female U18 AAA Featured Series: Tied at the top of the Female U18 standings, the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (18-6-1-1) visit the Fraser Valley Rush (18-6-1-1) for two important games. Thompson-Okanagan and Fraser Valley have met on six previous occasions this season, with the Rush leading the season series four games to two. This matchup will see two of the top five scorers in the Female U18 league in action as Lakers' forward Alexandra Recsky sits second with 27 points (8g-19a) in 26 games, and Rush forward Leah Hill is in fifth with 22 points (11g-11a) in 26 games played.

U18 AAA

U18 AAA Featured Series: Valuable points in the standings will be up for grabs when the league-leading Vancouver NE Chiefs (19-3-0-2) and the second-place Cariboo Cougars (18-5-1-0) square off for two games in Burnaby. This matchup will see two of the league's top goaltenders in action as Cougars' Ryder Green, who claimed September/October's U18 Goaltender of the Month and Chiefs' Nathan Claydon, who received U18 Goaltender of the Month honours in November, lead the U18 league in victories with 11 each.

U17 AAA

U17 AAA Featured Series: In a matchup between the top two teams in the U17 league, the first-place Greater Vancouver Canadians (16-4-2-2) travel to Kelowna to take on the second-place Okanagan Rockets (14-6-3-1). Both teams enter the weekend on a high-note with each riding five-game winning streaks. Rockets' forward Carson Callon has found the back of the net nine times, to go along with a pair of assists over his last five games, while Canadians' forward Sorash Ramlal has put up 14 points (2g-12a) over his last five games.

U15 AAA Featured Series: Looking to chase down the top spot in the U15 league, the second place Valley West Giants (12-4-1-0) take on the league-leading Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (17-2-0-0). Fraser Valley boasts three of the top five scorers in the U15 league in forwards Jaemin Kim (13g-20a) and Riley Charlton (10g-23a), along with defender Koltin Herfst (4g-23a). Valley West's offense is led by the pair of Luke Vickers (11g-11a) and Jonathan Zhang (12g-10a), who both rank inside the top 10 in U15 scoring.
