BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - JANUARY 7-9

For Immediate Release
January 7, 2022

Saanichton, B.C. –  The BCEHL returns after their holiday break with schedule adjustments intended to minimize the sustained close contact associated with group travel. In the Female U18 AAA league the Fraser Valley Rush and the Greater Vancouver Comets will be the only matchup of the weekend. In the U18 AAA league the first-placed Vancouver NE Chiefs (32 points) will face off against the third-placed Greater Vancouver Canadians (31 points), with top of the league standings on the line. Let's take a look at what else the first weekend of 2022 in the BCEHL has in store for us!

Female U18 AAA

The Female U18 AAA league returns with the Fraser Valley Rush and the Greater Vancouver Comets playing once again. In their final game before the holiday break the two teams played to a 2-2 tie, which saw the Comets pick up their first point of the season. Rush goaltender Rebecca Noble remains the only undefeated goalie in the league this season with a 9-0-1 record in 10 league starts.

The U17 AAA league returns with some blockbuster games as the Greater Vancouver Canadians (32 points) will take on the Valley West Giants (30 points), and the Vancouver NE Chiefs (30 points) will face off against the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (26 points). Chiefs' forwards Levi Green (16g-25a) and Colin Jang (12g-23a) will be hoping to springboard their team into top spot in the league this weekend.
