BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - NOVEMBER 15-20

Saanichton, B.C. - A busy week of BCEHL hockey has arrived! All nine squads in the U18 league will gather in Abbotsford for the first U18 showcase of the season. Let's take a look at what's in store in the BCEHL!

 

Female U18 AAA

 

U18 AAA Featured Matchup: The third-place Greater Vancouver Comets (8-6-0-0) welcome the second-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (10-4-0-0) for a three-game series in the Lower Mainland. The Lakers earned a pair of overtime victories last weekend against the Vancouver Island Seals, led by forward Emma Kohl, who found the back of the net four times. Kohl's big weekend propelled her to the top of the Female U18 goal race with 10 goals in 14 games. The Comets have won three of their last four games, with Sophie Cruz recording four points (2g-2a) during a three-game point streak.

U18 AAA Featured Matchup:

The first U18 showcase of the season gets going on Friday in Abbotsford. Sunday morning, we see a matchup between the third-place Cariboo Cougars (9-2-1-0) and the ninth-place Vancouver Island Royals (1-11-0-0). Cougars' forward Isaiah Bagri is coming off a huge weekend, where he put up seven points (4g-3a) in a pair of wins against the Vancouver NW Hawks. Royals' forward Jake Westhaver enters the showcase with four points (3g-1a) in his last three games.

U17 AAA

 

U17 AAA Featured Series: It's a battle between the top two squads in the U17 league when the league leading Vancouver NE Chiefs (8-3-3-2) and the second-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (7-3-1-1) link up for a pair of games. Chiefs' goaltender Maverick Bell enters the series with six victories on the season, leading all U17 goaltenders. In the Fraser Valley crease, netminder Mason Buors' five victories ranks second among all U17 goalies.
