BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - NOVEMBER 24-27

Saanichton, B.C. - Here we go! Another week of BCEHL hockey is nearly here with plenty of action across all four leagues, including full slates of games in the U18 and U17 leagues. Let's take a look at what's going on around the BCEHL.

 

Female U18 AAA

Female U18 AAA Featured Series: In Langley, the second-place Fraser Valley Rush (11-3-0-1) welcome the fourth-place Vancouver Island Seals (5-7-0-3). The Rush have won three of their last four, including a pair of victories against the Greater Vancouver Comets on November 12th and 14th. Madeline Collins (1g-2a) and Emily Chan (0g-3a) were key parts of Fraser Valley's success, each picking up three points each in their two wins. Seals' forward Zaynab Kalyan has been on a hot streak, where she has picked up 17 points (6g-11a) over a 10-game point streak.

U18 AAA

U18 AAA Featured Series: The league-leading Vancouver NE Chiefs (12-2-0-2) travel to Kamloops to take on the eighth-place Thompson Blazers (2-10-1-1). Chiefs' goaltender Nathan Claydon has been on fire as of late, picking up shutout victories in three of his last four games. Claydon's recent performance has launched him into first among U18 goalies in wins (8), goals against average (1.99) and shutouts (5). Blazers' forward Luca D'Amore has four goals in his last five games, including a hat-trick against the Valley West Giants on October 29th.

U17 AAA

U17 AAA Featured Series: In a battle for positioning in the standings, the eighth-place Vancouver NW Hawks (5-6-1-0) and ninth-place Vancouver Island Royals (4-9-1-2) take to the ice on the Mainland. The Royals will look to build off their 5-2 victory against the Thompson Blazers on November 19th, which was led by two-goal performances from Chase Fontaine and Roman Lavery. Hawks' forward Jamie Frizzell found the back of the net in his last time out against the Greater Vancouver Canadians, moving his season goal total to 10, which ranks tied for fourth among all U17 skaters.

U15 AAA

U15 AAA Featured Series: The third-place Valley West Giants (8-2-0-0) and fourth-place Okanagan Rockets (6-1-0-3) will get together this weekend in Kelowna. The two teams met earlier this season at the U15 showcase on September 23rd where Hawks' forward Luke Vickers registered a hat-trick in overtime and secured a 6-5 victory for his squad. Okanagan will be looking for a different result as they enter the weekend with wins in their last three league games.
