BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - NOVEMBER 30th - DECEMBER 2nd

Saanichton, B.C. - It's a busy week in the BCEHL! The action is highlighted by a matchup between the top scorers in the U17 league! Check out what's going on around the BCEHL.

 

Female U18 AAA

There are four teams set to take the ice this weekend in the Female U18 league. The first-place Greater Vancouver Comets (19-1-0-0) will take on the third-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (4-7-1-3) in Vernon. The fourth-place Vancouver Island Seals (5-10-0-0) will host the fifth-place Fraser Valley Rush (3-8-1-0) on home territory. The Seals and Rush have met once this season on September 28 with the Seals taking the 4-1 win.

Fraser Valley Rush @ Vancouver Island Seals - 3:30 p.m. - Cowichan Community Centre

Greater Vancouver Comets @ Thompson-Okanagan Lakers - 8:00 p.m. - Kal Tire Place

Sunday's Female U18 Games:

Fraser Valley Rush @ Vancouver Island Seals - 11:15 a.m. - Fuller Lake Arena

U18 AAA

The second-place Valley West Giants (11-3-0-1), who have won six of their last seven games, will battle the eighth-place Thompson Blazers (0-14-0-0) in Kamloops. With only a two-point difference in the standings, valuable points will be on the line when the fourth-place Okanagan Rockets (8-6-1-1) hit the ice against the sixth-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (7-7-1-1) in Burnaby. The Chiefs and Rockets have met twice this season, with the Rockets winning 3-1 on September 21 and the Chiefs winning 4-3 on September 22.

U17 AAA

The U17 league's top two scorers will go head to head this weekend when Brennen Coutts (14g-15a) and league-leading Okanagan Rockets (14-2-0-0) face Jake Banicevic (11g-19a) and the Vancouver North East Chiefs (10-5-1-1), who are tied for fourth-place with the Vancouver North West Hawks (11-6-0-0) with 22 points each. The Hawks will host the ninth-place Vancouver Island Royals (0-13-0-2) in North Vancouver and Langley.

U15 AAA

This week, six teams will hit the ice in the U15 league. The first-place Okanagan Rockets (12-2-0-0) will take on the seventh-place Vancouver North West Hawks (4-9-0-0) in North Vancouver. They have met once this season on September 21 with the Rockets securing a 3-1 win. The second-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (9-4-1-0) will host the fourth-place Cariboo Cougars (8-4-0-0) in Abbotsford, with the Cougars winning 6-1 in the only previous matchup between the two teams this season on September 20.
