BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - NOVEMBER 5-7

Saanichton, B.C. – The BCEHL is back for another weekend of action as all 10 of the U17 AAA teams will head to the Richmond Ice Centre for the U17 AAA Showcase. In the U15 AAA league the Valley West Giants and the Thompson Blazers will battle it out, with top spot in the standings on the line. Let’s see what else this weekend has in store! 

 

U18 Female AAA

The Vancouver Island Seals will open a three-game series against the Northern Capitals on Friday as they look to extend their season long three-game win streak. Seals forward Devan Andrusak recorded five points (3g-2a) last weekend to move into the top 10 in league scoring. The Northern Capitals will come into the series on the back of two wins, but will be without the league’s top two scorers, Hailey Armstrong and Brooklyn Hutchings, as they are away with Team BC at the 2021 Western Regional Women’s U18 Championship.

U18 AAA

The Vancouver NW Hawks remain in first place in the U18 AAA league standings after taking down the South Island Royals twice last weekend. The Hawks will look to carry that momentum into their matchup with the North Island Silvertips. The Vancouver NE Chiefs, who are only one point behind the Hawks in the standings, will host the Thompson Blazers. Grady Lenton of the Greater Vancouver Canadians will look to continue the success of last weekend’s five-point (2g-3a) outburst when the team hosts the Cariboo Cougars.

U17 AAA

The U17 AAA Showcase gets going this weekend with all 10 teams travelling to Richmond for the festivities. The Greater Vancouver Canadians, Vancouver NE Chiefs, and the Valley West Giants remain tied at the top of the league standings with 14 points each. Levi Green of the Chiefs extended his lead in the scoring race after an eight-point weekend (3g-5a). Okanagan Rockets goaltender Dylan Adams will look to add to his league leading four wins when his team takes on the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds at the showcase.

U15 AAA

The U15 AAA season is starting to heat up and some of this weekend’s matchups can’t be missed. The unbeaten Valley West Giants remain in first place. They will travel to face off against the Thompson Blazers, who scored 16 goals last weekend, and are only four points behind Valley West. Giants’ goaltender Kennedy Chalmers will look to add to her five wins and improve her 1.47 GAA. The Vancouver NW Hawks will travel to the Okanagan to battle the Rockets with only one point separating these two teams.
