BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - OCTOBER 13-15

Saanichton, B.C. - We've got another busy weekend coming up in the BCEHL with the first U17 showcase of the season getting underway on Friday in Langley. Let's see what's in store around the BCEHL!

 

Female U18 AAA

Female U18 AAA Featured Series:

In Kelowna, the third-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (3-2-0-0) welcome the fifth-place Northern Capitals (1-3-0-0) for a three-game series. The Lakers' most recent league outing was on October 1st, where a two-point performance from Emma Kohl (1g-1a), Jocelyn Tew (1g-1a) and Makena Vercholuk (0g-2a) helped propel them to a 4-3 victory over the Vancouver Island Seals. Capitals' forward Abby Bryant recorded two points (1g-1a) in her squad's most recent game against the Fraser Valley Rush on October 1st.

U18 AAA

U18 AAA Featured Series:

In a matchup of the top two teams in the U18 league, the first-place Vancouver NE Chiefs (6-0-0-0) travel to Prince George to take on the second-place Cariboo Cougars (4-1-1-0). Cougars' forward Mason Loewen is currently riding a four-game point streak (2g-4a) and is one of six Cougars' players (Isaiah Bagri, Rylan Bissett, Josh Gendron, Grady Gustafson, Jack Tidsbury) who are scoring at a point-per-game pace or better this season. On the Chiefs' side, forward Lucas McDonald leads the U18 league in scoring with 13 points (7g-6a) in six games.

U17 AAA Featured Matchup:

The third-place Okanagan Rockets (4-2-0-0) take on the seventh-place Vancouver NW Hawks (2-4-0-0) on Saturday at the U17 Showcase in Langley. Okanagan forward Carson Callon has found the back of the net six times in his first six games, including a pair against the Hawks on October 8th. Hawks' forward Lukas Hoff has had success against the Rockets this season, scoring three goals in two games.

U15 AAA Featured Matchup:

 A battle of two undefeated teams goes down on Sunday as the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (6-0-0-0) and the Valley West Giants (6-0-0-0) meet in Delta. The Fraser Valley goaltending duo of Davin Chyld and Bentley Edgar have been outstanding to start the year, having conceded just two goals so far throughout the team's opening six games. Valley West's offensive duo of Luke Vickers (7g-5a) and Jonathan Zhang (7g-2a) both sit in a tie for second in goals among U15 skaters with seven each.
