BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - OCTOBER 28-29

Saanichton, B.C. - Another weekend of BCEHL hockey is upon us! We've got action in all four leagues, including packed schedules in the U18 and U17 leagues. Let's take a look at what's in store!

 

Female U18 AAA

Female U18 AAA Featured Series: The lone matchup in the Female U18 league takes place on Vancouver Island when the second-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (6-2-0-1) visit the fourth-place Vancouver Island Seals (3-4-0-1). Thompson-Okanagan enters the series on a four-game winning streak. Lakers' defender Kilah Hodder has registered six points (1g-5a) in her last four games, and ranks first among all blueliners in the league with 10 points (2g-8a) in nine games. Seals' defender Kate Steele has put up four points (2g-2a) during a three-game point streak.

U18 AAA

U18 AAA Featured Series: The second-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (7-1-0-0) and the fifth-place Okanagan Rockets (5-4-0-1) hit the ice for two games. Fraser Valley has rose to the occasion in close contests as they've won four games decided by one goal during an ongoing five-game winning streak. Rockets' forward Aiden Bruce has been all over the scoresheet so far this season, with 17 points (7g-10a) in 10 games played.

U17 AAA

U17 AAA Featured Series: The seventh-place Thompson Blazers (3-5-0-0) host the ninth-place Valley West Giants (1-3-2-0). Both squads have received offense from their blueline this season as Thompson's Aaron Zulnick ranks second among U17 blueliners with eight points (2g-6a) in eight games, while Valley West's Joshua Lee sits fourth with six points (1g-5a) in six games.

U15 AAA

U15 AAA Featured Series: In the U15 league, the fifth-place Thompson Blazers (3-3-2-0) travel to the Island to take on the seventh-place Vancouver Island Royals (2-5-0-3). The Blazers are coming off a 4-3 victory against the Cariboo Cougars on October 22, led by a hat-trick from forward Mattias Holte. The Royals' also enter the weekend coming off a win, as a hat-trick from Kane Nicholas led them to a 7-4 victory over the Vancouver NW Hawks on October 15th.
