For Immediate Release
October 8, 2021
Saanichton, B.C. – The BCEHL season is in full swing! Puck drops on the U15 AAA Invitational Tournament in Richmond this weekend with nine of the BCEHL U15 AAA teams attending. The U17 AAA league enters their second weekend of action with five undefeated teams, let’s see what else is in store for us!
U18 Female AAA
After a fantastic showcase in Surrey last weekend the teams now return to a regular slate of games across the province. The Fraser Valley Rush came out firing last weekend in their first action of the season, picking up four straight victories and scoring 20 goals along the way. Aynsley D’Ottavio was involved in eight of those goals (2g-6a), and Hailey Armstrong of the Northern Capitals increased her lead in the scoring race by adding six points (5g-1a) in the showcase, giving her 11 points on the season. The Rush travel up north this weekend to take on the league leading Northern Capitals in what should be an offensive showcase.

The standings couldn’t be any closer in the U18 AAA league as we have a five-way tie at the top with the North Island Silvertips, Valley West Giants, Fraser Valley Thunderbirds, Thompson Blazers, and the Vancouver NW Hawks all picking up five points from four games. This should make for some entertaining weekend matchups as the Blazers travel to take on the Hawks, and the Silvertips prepare to battle the Giants. Oliver Josephson of the South Island Royals added five points (2g-3a) to his tally last weekend, taking him to seven points in just three games. Decker Mujcin of the Cariboo Cougars added another two goals and three assist last weekend, taking him to 12 points on the year.
