MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES FOR HOCKEY COMMUNITY AHEAD OF RIVALRY SERIES

Saanichton, B.C. - BC Hockey and Hockey Canada are teaming up to bring a plethora of opportunities to players, coaches and officials in the Kelowna and Kamloops areas ahead of the 2022 Rivalry Series. The two games in the B.C. interior will kick off the series between the Canadian National Women’s Team and the United States. 

 

KELOWNA EVENTS

What: Skill Sessions

When: November 13 – 10:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

Where: Prospera Place

Who: Female players between U11-U15

What: Coach Q & A with Team Canada National Women’s Team Coaching Staff

When: November 13 (4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

When: November 14 – 5:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

What: Welcome Team Canada to Prospera Place before the game

When: November 15 – 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Where: Prospera Place

Who: Public

Information: Everyone is invited down ahead of the game to cheer Team Canada as they arrive at the arena. Bring your signs and get ready for the game!

 

What: Team Canada Hot Stove - Prior to game 1 of the rivalry series a Team Canada player and Director of Hockey Operations Gina Kingsbury will be available for a Hot Stove Q & A session.

When: November 15 – 5:30 p.m.

Where: Prospera Place

Who: Open to all

Registration: Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. and is required to be permitted into the building. Registration does not include a ticket to the game. Register Here.

 

Skills Session Information:

  • All participants will receive a jersey and a BC Hockey player gift.
  • All participants will be invited to attend the Team Canada practice that begins at 1:00p.m.
  • All participants will be invited to attend an autograph session post-practice (limit 1 item to be autographed per participant).
  • All participants must be BC Hockey/Hockey Canada members to register.
  • All participants must be in full hockey equipment.
  • Participants will be notified which skill session they have been assigned once registration closes on November 10th.
  • Check-in for Skills Sessions on the day of is 45 minutes prior to your assigned ice time at the Minor Hockey Entrance at Prospera Place.
  • Currently, due to capacity limitations at Prospera Place only players and on-ice volunteers will be able to attend the Team Canada practice and autograph signing. Parents will be asked to wait outside the arena. We are continuing to work with the facility to increase the limitation number. Further information will be forthcoming.

 

Goaltending Session Information:

  • Participants will receive a jersey and a BC Hockey player gift
  • Facilitated by Hockey Canada Certified Goalie Coaches Katie Greenway and Travis Hoy
  • 12 spots available for female goaltenders
  • All participants must be BC Hockey/Hockey Canada members to register.
  • All participants must be in full goaltender equipment.
  • Check-in for Goalie Session on the day of is 45 minutes prior to your assigned ice time at the Minor Hockey Entrance at Prospera Place.

KAMLOOPS EVENTS

What: Officiating Development Session with the Rivalry Series game officials.

When: November 16 – 6:00 p.m.

Where: Sandman Centre

Who: Female officials of all ages
