BC Hockey, along with Sport Hosting Vancouver, is hosting the inaugural Vancouver Minor Rec Hockey Classic from March 24 - 29, 2020 at six (6) arenas around Vancouver. Over 1,800 participants and their families will converge in the Lower Mainland for the biggest minor rec hockey tournament in the province.

The schedules for the BC Hockey Leagues have been posted for the 2019 - 2020 season. The schedules include multiple showcase weekends within each league.

The BC Hockey Leagues include: Female Midget AAA (FMAAA), Major Bantam League (MBL), Minor Midget League (MML15), Major Midget League (MML) and the Zone Program, which includes Bantam AA and Midget AA.

BC Hockey announced on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 that Neil Pilon (Ashcroft, BC) will lead the Thompson Zone Midget AA team for the 2019 – 2020 season.  Pilon is entering his third season with the BC Hockey Zone Program; he coached last year with the Thompson Minor Midget AAA team and was with the Thompson Zone team th year prior.

Prince George Spruce Kings Crowned Junior A Champions

The Prince George Spruce Kings were crowned the BC Hockey League (BCHL) Junior A Champions on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 with a 3-1 victory over the Vernon Vipers.  The Spruce Kings swept the Vipers in four (4) games to take home the Fred Page Cup.  This is the first time in franchise history that the Spruce Kings have won the trophy.

The BC Hockey Male and Female Senior Hockey have been awarded as the Fraser Valley Jets of the South Coast Women’s Hockey League (SCWHL) has won the Female Senior AA championship in Hope, BC while the Dawson Creek Canucks have won the Coy Cup, BC Hockey’s Male Senior AA Championship in Fort St. John, BC. It was the second consecutive championship for both teams.

BC Officials Selected for 2019 IIHF World Championship

BC Hockey officials Brett Iverson (Richmond, BC) and Nathan Vanoosten (Vancouver, BC) have been selected by the IIHF Officiating Committee to skate in the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, May 10 – 26 2019, in Bratislava and Kosice, Slovakia. Iverson has been selected as a referee and Vanoosten as a linesman for the tournament.
